TikTok 101: How To Add Links To Your TikTok Bio to Monetize Your Videos

TikTok is one of the fastest growing social networks, with tons of opportunities for creators and influencers to grow their audience through unique video content. Currently the most downloaded app in the Apple App Store for five consecutive quarters, it boasts over 800 million users and millions of video views per day. That’s why creators can NOT afford to neglect it. Not only can you connect your YouTube and Instagram channels to your TikTok bio (and you should – here’s why), but you can add links to your TikTok bio!

How to Add A Clickable Link in Your TikTok Profile Bio

How can you showcase your chosen recommendations, tips, and other social channels on your TikTok profile?  Here’s the skinny:

  1. Tap the 3 dots icon (…) in the top right-hand corner of your bio to access the “Settings and Privacy Page”
  2. Tap “Switch to a Business Account” (note: if you switch to a business account, you will be limited to using songs that are licensed for commercial use.)
  3. Navigate to your profile and tap “Edit Profile”. You’ll now see a new Website field underneath Bio. Tap on the Website section.
  4. Paste your link into the website field and click “Save”. Pro Tip – this is the PERFECT page to add your ObsessedWith. It main page link!

Links in your TikTok bio are a great promotional tool for your other channels and your MagicLinks + ObsessedWith.It. Here’s how to do it.

1. Navigate to your TikTok profile & click “Edit Profile”

2. Tap the “Edit” icon to write a short, fun, snappy bio with your link as the first line, or just the link & no bio.

3. When you upload a video, call out your Instagram + YouTube channels & let your fans know that they can shop all your looks through your other channels + your ObsessedWith.It.

That’s it! Give TikTok a try, and have some fun!

  1. I’m a self-publishing author of books for the young of heart. I am new to this part of the media world. I was told I need a video that has an active web link shown on the video. It looks a little intimidating. I think I have a little fear of messing it up..☺ thank you

    1. You’ll do great, Lauresa!

  2. What do you think about adding URL parameters to the TikTok bio link?

    1. Hi Tim, we think it’s got potential! This may be a great tracking source for brands running influencer campaigns on TikTok.

  3. Thank you.

  4. Please, can I write a link on a TikTok video description?
I’ll need that feature because I want to send viewers directly to my full videos on YouTube. I post only a short part of the videos

    1. TikTok doesn’t support clickable URLs in the description, but you could create your ObsessedWith.it so that it has each of your full videos highlighted there so that when your followers clicked your website link in your bio, they find the content you reference in your TikToks. We see creators do this by calling out their TikTok profile link within the descriptions or the audio in the TikTok.

  5. Great article. People usually underestimate this feature or forget about it. However thanks to it, you can increase your sales for free or get more subscribers on Instagram/Youtube.

  6. i switched to a buisness account and it still does not show the website link option
