Q: When do I get paid – and how?

A: Payments are issued via PayPal on the 1st of every month, when your locked-down commissions total is $50 or greater. Locked-in commission totals of $50 or less will be rolled over to the next month’s total.

Not sure if you’ve added your PayPal info to your Manage Your Profile page? Go check. We’ll wait. 🙂

Q: Why Are Commissions Taking FOREVER To Be Locked In?

We’re not holding back on you, we promise.

Where’s the money? In affiliate limbo. Most retailers build in a window of 30-90 days post-sale before they will lock down commissions. This window is to account for possible returns, exchanges, and canceled orders; after all, they don’t want to pay commissions on products that were returned, because that’s not a sale for them in the end.

As the purchases your followers have made through your link pass the merchant’s preferred time frame for returns & exchanges, you’ll see them move from the Pending Open Commissions box on your Performance Reports Payment page to the Payment Due (Locked In, To Be Paid) box.

Q: I have a lot of clicks, but no commissions. Help?

The majority of our merchants operate on PPS (pay-per-sale) commissions, which means you receive a commission only when someone clicks on your link and makes a purchase. The industry as a whole is moving away from PPC (pay per click), as it is not very profitable for merchants.

Q: What kind of tax stuff do I need to worry about?

A: US residents will need to submit a completed W-9 form if they earn more than $600 in one calendar year (January 1st through December 31st) with MagicLinks. All foreign residents must submit a completed W-8 form, regardless of the amount of money they make with MagicLinks. Please send your completed forms to hello@magiclinks.org.

Q: Where can I check my commission and click totals?

A: The Performance Reports page in your account has all the info you could need – and then some! We work hard behind the scenes to make the Reports easier to read and more detailed, so you can see clicks and commissions reflecting as soon as possible.

Plus, the Performance Reports page also has a World Map tab, so you can see where your subscribers are clicking from, a Links tab so you can track which links got the most clicks and commissions, and both Merchant and Products tabs that show sales, commission percentages, and commissions.
